Hello from Wright, Minnesota, the right place for supporting church planting with NPEA. Leland and I (Marilyn) have roots in Missouri but 10 years ago we moved to the Northland to be closer to our children and grandchildren. We’ve been involved in new church work over many years so when Mike Sojka came to our church in Tamarack (an hour southwest of Duluth) to share the need of the Gospel in sparse areas of the upper Midwest we caught the spirit again. Since we live miles from the Spearfish plant, we did the only thing we could do . . .pray and send money. We continue our support because of the faithful monthly response letters that detail prayer requests. We appreciate hearing about the many answered prayers and about the personal commitment of leaders who are building on the foundation of Jesus Christ. Long distance, we join a team of players who know that only God can grow a church.

Leland and I live on a small farm where our 9 grandchildren have etched their joy in the hay fields, on the assembly line at butchering time and at the measuring wall in the living room where physical growth is dated, at least yearly, from 17 year old Greg down to one year old Navada.

In addition to their visits, we stay busy in various ministries at the Tamarack Church of Christ. Leland is a deacon with a concern that young people know Jesus before they graduate and leave the protective umbrella of family and friends. I have enjoyed being a Sunday School and VBS teacher. Our most recent outreach has been a summer reading program for neighborhood children.

We believe the mission field must begin at home. The Great Commission is being fulfilled through NPEA when churches are being planted in neighborhoods where we can’t go. I hope you will consider joining NPEA in prayer and giving, for winning the hearts of families in the name of Jesus Christ.
